Brief Description
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for making additions to the Select List for the Junior Secretariat Assistant/Lower Division Clerk Grade. This examination is only open to eligible Multi-Tasking Staff of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) cadre. The selection is based on a Computer Based Examination and an assessment of service records.

Service & Age Requirement
- Candidates must be Multi-Tasking Staff of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS) who have been substantively appointed or are quasi-permanent.
- Age Limit: Must not be more than 45 years of age on 01.08.2024. Age relaxation up to 50 years is available for SC/ST candidates.
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognized Board or equivalent.
Selection Process & Syllabus
Selection Method
- The selection will be based on a Computer Based Examination and an evaluation of the candidate's record of service.
- The final selection will be based on the total marks obtained in the written exam (200 marks) and the service record evaluation (100 marks).
Written Exam Syllabus (200 Marks)
- Paper-I (100 Marks, 2 Hours): General Awareness and Comprehension & Writing Ability of English Language. This is a descriptive paper covering Essay, Noting & Drafting, and Precis writing.
- Paper-II (100 Marks, 2 Hours): An objective type paper covering General Knowledge, Constitution of India, and General Financial & Service Rules. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
How to Apply
- Applications must be submitted online only at the new SSC website: **https://ssc.gov.in**.
- Candidates must complete a One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new website.
- The application requires a live photograph captured via webcam or mobile.
- After filling the online application, take a printout and get it verified and forwarded by your Head of Department/Office.
- The verified hard copy must reach the concerned Regional Director of SSC by the specified last date.
